We talk about wearing shoe covers in construction, medical, child care, and real estate industries, but there are other places you wouldn’t expect shoe covers to be required. You may have seen our blog “2 Unusual Places in the U.S. that Require Shoe Covers” but here are two unusual places outside of the U.S. that require shoe covers.

  1. The Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is a large ivory-white marble mausoleum located on the south bank of the Yamuna River in Agra, India. It was commissioned in 1632 by Shah Jahan, the Mughal emperor. Shah Jahan built the mausoleum to house the tomb of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It later housed Shah Jahan, as well. The Taj Mahal is one of the most famous examples of Mughal architecture, which combined Indian, Islamic, and Persian influences, and it is one of the world’s most celebrated structures. No shoes are allowed inside of the structure, so the options are removing your shoes or wearing provided shoe covers. With the millions of tourists walking through the Taj Mahal each year, shoe covers are definitely the safer bet.

  1. Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat, a temple complex located in Cambodia, is one of the largest religious monuments in the world. Angkor Wat was originally built as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire. Toward the end of the 12th century, the temple complex was gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple. Visitors of the temples at Angkor Wat, much like the Taj Mahal, are required to go without shoes entirely or to wear shoe covers. To avoid any type of infection or exposure to elements, shoe covers are the smart choice. This also cuts down on the possibility of missing or stolen shoes.

All of these environments require walking, so shoe covers with traction and durability are a must. With the various array of people coming through the temples and Taj Mahal, you need a shoe cover with a universal fit. BootieBulter’s KBSB-SF-600 shoe cover model is built for durability and long wear with a universal fit and anti-skid features.
